All of us at the NJ Alliance for Culture Change feel deep anger and sadness in the wake of the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and so many other senseless deaths in the African-American community at the hands of police officers.
To the members of our long-term care communities who experience racism, hatred, and social injustice firsthand, we acknowledge your pain and your grief. As an organization that embraces the value and inherent dignity of residents, their families and our team members, we hope that within our sphere we can help advance a more just world.
“If, going forward, we can channel our justifiable anger into peaceful, sustained, and effective action, then this moment can be a real turning point in our nation’s long journey to live up to our highest ideals. Let’s get to work.” –Barack Obama
